so, i'm kind of a rookie with this whole teething business.
elliot cut his bottom two teeth over a month ago with not so much as a fuss.
but these top teeth, are killing us ALL!
he cut one of them almost a week ago and i can see the other making its way down...
he has been so sad, irritated and cranky.
his sleep schedule is whaaack.
cries when he eats his beloved finger food, but will still continue to feed himself it.
{such a sick little cycle}
he seemed to be fine all day yesterday.
he was happy, he was napping, he was pooping (4 naps and 4 poops...........)
then boom, after his last nap he was another baby.
his nose was running, he had a fever, he was clingy, he was crying...
that continued on into the rest of the evening, with moments of the real elliot shining through but for the most part it was teething elliot.
a few hours after we put him to bed, he started crying and wouldn't go back to sleep, so i went in there, picked that boy up outta his crib and rocked in the rocking chair where he immediately passed out.
{this never happens!!!!}
he had so much nasties in his nose, he couldn't breathe.
i rocked and i rocked until his breathing was silent...and then i rocked some more.
he never lets us do this and it was just bliss.
until his wall heater kicked on, which is right next to the chair and jussst out of my reach,
and i started to sweat and prayed ryan would realize i had been in there for 20 minutes and come in so he could turn it off...
but he didn't.
he was checking his facebook.
and then 1 a.m. came along and i nursed that little baby but he refused to go back to sleep in his crib...
so he was in bed with us, and then refused to sleep unless my hand was rubbing his tummy or his leg....
seriously, i could fall asleep for 15 minutes at a time before he would start crying for me to keep doing it.
it went on until 5:30 when ryan {ehhh FINALLY} pulled him over to him and they cuddled and we all slept.
so i'm pretty sure he just has a cold, on top of teething...
his nose is running like mad and he has also started to sneeze a whole bunch.
send sweet prayers over here for his health and for my sanity.
Elliot is the most adorable little guy! I love reading your updates on him! I hope he feels better quickly!

Poor baby! Poor momma! Thats exactly how the baby I nanny is right now. She's cutting her 5th and 6th tooths..(teeths??) right now and she's super clingy and nose runny and fussy and cries when she eats her finger foods. So I half hear ya, only half, because I get to leave at 5 in the afternoon...
ReplyDeletehey i thought i'd comment back here :-) thanks for the compliment! i'm feeling kinda huge lately and i'm only half way! sophie and the next one will be around 21 months apart. um, our dining chairs are from a replica furniture store in the UK...they are not real eames chairs, one of the real ones costs more than all of our replica ones together! but anyway, ours pretty much cost the same as ikea chairs :-)

Aw poor Elliott and poor you. I hope he gets better soon! We have an Amber teething necklace for Chloe and it seriously works amazingly!!
