we went on a nice date to a sushi restaurant and actually spent a decent amount of money on food.
we then went to your apartment and had a few drinks.
you then decided you wanted to shave your head.
soooo,
we get you all ready and i'm shaving your head and all, then the razor died...
half way through.
cute.
you then drank some more...
fixed the razor,
went to test it out,
totally forgetting the guard wasn't on and of course you chose to test it on the top/front of your head.
which then forced us to completely shave your head.
because you be so smart...
then you got more drunk and threw up all those noodles in the second photo in the bath tub and completely forgot about it, and was shocked to find them in the morning.
it's mine and ryan's three year anniversary on sunday.
and as ryan knows,
one of my favorite things to do is look through old photos on iphoto and facebook and retell stories to him about a younger us/me.
so,
since i've never done it on here, it offers me the perfect opportunity to do so!
over the next few days i'm going to be posting photos of some of my favorite memories between us over the last three years.
in no particular order but here's the first one...
owen.
how could you deny this little face?
we adopted him april of 2008 and hid him in ryan's on campus apartment for a few weeks before i moved off campus into a dreadful house full of girls.
he was the most adorable puppy i had ever seen and he was sooooo soft!
but he was a nightmare!
we almost took him back to the pound.
his teeth were razor sharp and he would attack everyone, he was so mean.
he wouldn't sleep in his crate but instead on our heads.
and his breath smelled like poop.
{also ps, he is laying on my bed right now and air is literally shooting out of his butt every few minutes and it stiiiiiiiinks!}
he has his quirks now but he's the best dog we have ever had {pre being together}
and we really couldn't ever see us without him.
that will be a very sad day in the meyer home when it's his time to go...
ryan and i had to go through so much with this dog it was ridiculous,
ie: chewing up boots, my glasses...yes, even the glass, destroying every bed ever given to him and a down comforter, chewing up ryan's window sill...ohhh teething dogs. but it really helped us grow as a couple and i don't think we would have gotten married when we did if we never would have gotten him. so thanks o!
ryan left this morning until thursday and with all the traveling we have been pretty proactive in spending intentional time together, doing things instead of just sitting on the couch.
so on saturday, as you know, Copper found a new home, i have seen some photos of her and she looks comfortable and happy, but she got a new collar - pink and white polka dots...ugly.
after that happened we went to about 9 different garages sales and found a few gems...only spending like $15.
and then later in the afternoon went to the dollar theater and saw dinner for shmucks, which had it's moments but i thought overall, was slow and predictable.
sunday came, and for the first time the air actually felt crisp.
i skipped church cause i've been battling an "almost cold" and my throat was killing me when i woke up.
got a bunch of laundry done and when ryan got home we went to the flea market...
for the first time ever,
and it was amazingggg...
we got this coke glass bottle case (on the right) for $5.
except it's an RC cola case, whatevs.
oh and that print on the left,
we picked up from a yard sale for $5.
it's an original poster, printed on fabric and was picked up years ago at an antique store.
ryan didn't know what we could use this case for when DA DAHHHH i said spice rack.
since they're like $30 at target.
and it says "nashville, tennessee" which was discovered post purchase, but a major selling point in itself ;)
{i promise we're not vain, i just needed a photo for this post}
hope the end of the week has you well and that your weekend so far has been fun/relaxing etc.
this time last week i was down in the dumps since the days leading to it were going down in history as being some of the worst, but luckily this past week was much better.
i've been enjoying the little things like:
~ buying a pumpkin butter scented candle, that makes my house smell AMAZING, but also leaves me thinking i baked something, which makes me want to eat it, but to my horror...it's a candle.
~ i bought two tiny scarecrow things since all other fall/halloween decorations were too expensive. i thought they could look like ryan and i and put them in our yard...uhh i'll post a photo tomorrow.
~ i bought a bag of candy corn, and put it in a little serving bowl on my table to be cute and to satisfy mine or my guests sweet teeth on occasion {except we just got home to see that our roommate ate all of them except two, as if i wouldn't notice} - so now that bowl is refilled and on my dresser, gluttony = candy corn privileges revoked.
~ I filmed a reenactment for the 700 Club on Thursday {last minute}.
~ I also booked a set of ambulance chaser commercials for around the country, soooo...maybe i'll be coming to a city near you?
but on a more bittersweet note, we finally found a home for Copper. a very perfect couple came and met her today and took her home with them. they were pretty excited but it was pretty sad when ryan and i lifted her into their truck and she just looked at us...
yes we probably both teared up a bit.
we're definitely missing her tonight, even the big O.
but it's for the best and it's been nice to spend the time with my family, the three of us just fit together well and Copper did always feel a little on the outside, but i love her and i know we gave her the best life we could in the 3 months she was with us.
