more honeymoon photos!

i had lines on my face from that snorkel mask for two days.
cute.

a really beautiful church on 5th ave in playa del carmen.

my little rock lobster.

i was really confused as to why my upper back was like a different ethnicity than my lower back.

dinner tonight

ryan and i are both pretty health and fitness conscious,
me more than him.
;)
but lately we have been hitting the gym hard because we both noticed a few too many lbs
added onto us since the wedding.
woops.
anyway, i experimented tonight with a summery pasta and it turned out awesome.
got everything from trader joe's and all organic.
mixed penne pasta, with extra virgin olive oil, chopped some sweet onion, celery and a lot of tomatoes,
put in some good chunks of mozzarella cheese (with part skim milk instead of whole) and a pinch of minced garlic.
to top it off, basil, pepper and a little bit of salt.

we have left overs for days.

but YUM.

oh and we splurged on some classic coke.
just cause we worked out extra hard today.

le honeymoon

since i haven't yet,
here are some of my favorite photos from the honeymoon.
i have a lot more,
which will probably show up here and there.
{these are in no real order either}
{because i'm lazy}

we went to the adventura spa palace
in playa advenutras, mexico.
it's about a 45 minute drive south of the cancun airport.
but totally worth it.

there was an obstacle course in our resort.
what?
we walked through it since we were usually busy napping, eating, swimming and drinking.
but we could see it from our balcony.
and this thing was our favorite.
every time we walked to the other resort
{it was split in two, spa palace is adults only and the palace was family friendly, our all-inclusive worked in both}
i had to swing on it.

i seriously can't look at this photo without busting out laughing.
it was like our second day there and we scored some chairs under an umbrella.
{practically impossible}
ryan had gotten up to go do something and when he came back and sat down he was like,
"uhh, why is my sandal in the pool?"
and there it was,
just floating away.

OK

i know you're not laughing but it was definitely hilarious and i laughed about it all day.
shh.

seriously miss this place every day.

jamaica.

{me at 16}

five years ago i went on a month long mission trip to jamaica.
it was one of the most life changing experiences i had had at that point in my life.
it was dirty, and hard and it hurt.
the training beforehand was intense but spiritually it was extremely awakening.
anyway,
actually going to jamaica, spending time in kingston and even deeper into it, trenchtown,
was more life changing and as i look back, ridiculously dangerous.
teenage gunman on every corner,
who will shoot a child if it crosses the border, etc.
but it was beautiful.
and i have often thought of the people, not only on my team, but the ones i had met,
talked to and prayed with.
so with that,

WHAT IS GOING ON JAMAICA RIGHT NOW?!?!?

{i apologize for the ad in the beginning}

i'm sitting here wondering if the children and teenagers i spent time with are ok,
if the pastors and school teachers and neighbors that cared for us are ok.
and i'm praying heavily for their country,
and the people causes such havoc.

seriously,
devastated.

mmm cafe!

just brewed my first cappuccino on my new espresso machine.
i'm pretty satisfied, although i was staring at the instructions the whole time.
but nonetheless,
mmm.
how i love coffee.
i'm kickin it alone this evening cause ryan is at a concert.
and i'm craving something sweet...
like a coke float perhaps?
or maybe my second paleta for the day
{via las paletas, this amazing popsicle place in nashville}

maybe i'll catch up on modern family.

free time.

good morning!
today ryan is attending a cooking class!
i bought him two awesome cooking classes at the viking school in franklin, tn.
he eventually wants to own a restaurant and we dream of our menus and design constantly.
but two things he has been showing major interest in are pizza and sauce.
{he is always trying to make the best pizza from scratch}
so as my wedding gift for him i found these two perfect classes...

the one today is a pizza workshop, where they make four or five different pizzas and their own dough.
the second one is in june and is a sauce workshop, again, making four or five dishes and the sauces that go with them from scratch.

in other news,
i'm currently unemployed. haha.
i interviewed for a position to teach 3-6 year olds soccer, but it turned out to be super new and super unorganized.
oh, and an hour away.
i had the job if i wanted it but i wrote to the guy this morning asking to remove myself from consideration.
i also took my first improv class ever monday night and basically had the time of my life and found out i had a talent i never knew i had.

the only good thing about not working is that ryan and i have had a lot of time to spend together,
which is really nice.
just kinda feels like summer vacation.
oh well ;)

hair envy.

i have been growing my hair out for over a year now.
two years ago i cut about a foot of hair off for a shorter do, which turned into me cutting it shorter and shorter and shorter.
eventually to a pixi.
my hair was shorter than ryan's at one point.
but now all i can dream about are these luscious locks.

seriously,
i have pulled out every trick to get my hair to grow.
but oh how i long for the day that my hair looks like this girl's...

sunday.

happy sunday!
what are you doing today?
yesterday marked our two week anniversary as a married couple and we also had our first huge married fight.
:(
but things are fine now!
it happens and you kinda just realize that you're stuck with this person now, for good...
{just kidding}
i'm spending my sunday...cleaning!
i feel like that's all i have done since we got back from the honeymoon.
we had gotten back last week to our house being an enormous mess and owen looking starved and bored.
i even found a roach in my washing machine!
so we spent two entire days deep cleaning everything.
but then husband's friend keith dropped by for a couple days with his husky and now the house needs cleaning again.
other than that, i need to figure out how to use my new espresso machine,
and juice a grapefruit!

introducing, for the first time...

{mr and mrs ryan meyer}

that's us.
you may have known me, formally, from:
but now i'm here, and i'm a wife.
so i thought on such an occasion it was appropriate to start a new blog to document this new chapter in my life.
hope you all agree.
